Product Release Update Q3 2025
Sharper Taxonomy. Deeper Risk Understanding. Smarter Insights.
We’re excited to introduce the latest product updates to the Owlin Platform, designed to make your risk monitoring even more powerful, transparent, and actionable.
Expanded – Risk Scores across the platform
Instant Context. Clearer Prioritization. Better Decisions.
Why did we expand the use of risk scores?
Our goal is to help you understand risk faster, with clarity and confidence. To do that, we’ve rolled out risk scores more broadly across the platform, so you can instantly interpret how serious a development is, no matter where you are in Owlin.
What’s new?
- Risk scores now appear in Events: Each event in a company’s risk narrative is now scored (High or Moderate), helping you see escalation patterns at a glance.
- Consistent scoring and use-case centric framework: Whether you’re screening, monitoring, or reviewing news developments, risk scores now follow the same transparent logic, ensuring consistent and straightforward interpretation across use cases. Moreover, the framework intelligently adapts to the use case: for one-time screenings, all historical events are considered, while in continuous monitoring, recent developments carry more weight to reflect the current risk impact.
- Immediate prioritization: Quickly identify which events or entities deserve deeper investigation.
How will you benefit?
With risk scores now seamlessly integrated across your daily workflows, you can make faster, more informed judgments without having to sift through long lists of results: time spent prioritizing events is reduced by 40%, and users report making risk-based decisions up to 30% faster. Whether you’re looking at a single event or a full risk storyline, scores bring clarity, helping you understand severity and urgency instantly.
“We’re making risk easier to interpret, not just detect. Users can instantly see where to focus their attention and explore why a score has the value it does. Owlin stands out in the market because our risk scores are transparent, explainable, and actionable, unlike traditional ‘black box’ solutions.”
– Stefan Peekel | Chief Growth Officer at Owlin
Enhanced – Risk Taxonomy and Lenses
Smarter Classification. Broader Coverage. Cleaner Insights.
Why did we enhance the taxonomy*?
Risk evolves quickly, and so must the way we classify it. Based on client feedback and emerging trends, we’ve refined our taxonomy and added new sublenses to ensure the platform continues to capture the full risk picture.
What’s new?
- Updated risk naming conventions for greater clarity and consistency.
- New risk labels: For example, we added Boycotts and Protests, addressing growing demand for visibility into public sentiment risks.
- Expanded sublenses: For better organization of risk labels into sublenses.
How will you benefit?
You’ll see improved precision and coverage across your searches and monitoring dashboards. The updated taxonomy not only reflects what’s happening in the market today but also anticipates tomorrow’s emerging risk themes, helping you stay ahead. Clients using the new taxonomy experience up to 25% fewer irrelevant results, 20% faster search and filtering, and report higher confidence in their monitoring decisions.
“We refined how we name and structure risks to make results clearer, filters more powerful, and insights more actionable. Owlin stands out in the market with its extensive risk lenses and the ability to personalize monitoring, so each user can focus exactly on what matters most for their portfolio. It’s about keeping our framework as dynamic as the world it monitors.”
– Eduardo Zajbert Peña | Head of Product at Owlin
Improved – Consumer Review Categorization
Early Signals, Now Even Smarter.
Why did we refine consumer review analysis?
Consumer reviews are often the first signal of trouble, well before issues reach the news or financial reports. To make these insights even more actionable, we’ve expanded how reviews are categorized and scored.
What’s new?
- More granular issue types that cover a wider range of operational and reputational concerns.
- Enhanced AI-driven analysis for better detection of sentiment shifts across platforms and languages.
- Smarter trend recognition to identify recurring issues faster.
How will you benefit?
You’ll detect early warning signs sooner, from product dissatisfaction and service delays to fraud or compliance concerns. Pilot users identified potential supplier issues two weeks earlier than traditional monitoring, tracked 15–20% more early-warning signals, and improved overall risk response times by up to 25%.
“At Digital Procurement World (DPW), I spoke with several supply chain leaders who were genuinely excited about this feature. Owlin is the only platform in the market that combines consumer review insights with adverse media monitoring in a scalable and efficient way, giving users a powerful, early-warning view of risk across multiple external sources.”
– Sjoerd Leemhuis | CEO & Founder of Owlin
