Product Release Update

New Owlin Monitoring!

What if you could cut your adverse-media, PEP, and sanctions reading time in half, and still catch more risk signals? With our latest enhancements to Owlin Monitoring, you can. Get a single, unified overview of all your sources, powered by multi-source monitoring that brings everything together in one place.

Discover our new Risk Prioritization Monitor, showing you in seconds which portfolio companies need your attention, and explore Event Timelines that transform fragmented articles and risk signals into clear, summarized, and actionable events.

New feature – Risk Prioritization Monitor

Instant risk prioritization through risk classification of vendors and key risk events in one place.

Why did we add the Risk Prioritization Monitor?

Risk teams were spending too much time figuring out where to look first when monitoring vast portfolios. With increasing data volumes and tighter regulatory expectations, manually reviewing thousands of companies becomes unmanageable.

What’s new?

The new Risk Prioritization Monitor instantly ranks your portfolio by risk score. High-risk companies automatically surface at the top of your feed, highlighting companies (and related events) with surging risk to enable faster, more confident decision-making.

You can now:

  • See the highest-risk entities and events the moment you log in
  • Quickly identify which companies require immediate attention
  • Check a one-liner summary about a company that helps you understand what’s driving the risk score.

How will you benefit?

  • Faster triage, less manual prioritization
  • Reduced risk of overlooking critical entities
  • Immediate visibility on what matters most today

New feature – Event Timeline

From fragmented articles and risk signals to clear, unified, summarized events

Why did we build the Event Timelines?

Alert fatigue and noise were among the most significant pain points for risk & compliance teams. The large amount of alerts was costing these risk & compliance teams a lot of time in research and resolution.

What’s new?

Owlin now automatically groups related alerts into single contextualized events. Each event is scored by severity, and extracts the relevant facts with narrative summaries. The platform also monitors how events develop and updates events when there are key developments. The end of receiving too many alerts is there!

This means:

  • Multiple news articles and signals (e.g., sanctions hit, watchlist hit) = one event timeline
  • Full context, no fragmentation
  • A clear story behind every risk signal

You can explore each event through our redesigned detail pages, which include a complete timeline and direct links to original sources.

How will you benefit?

  • Far fewer alerts
  • Richer context for faster decisions
  • A more structured, story-based understanding of risks

Product improvement – Owlin’s OmniSignal

Unified intelligence beyond adverse media

Why did we expand the monitoring scope?

Previously, Owlin monitoring focused primarily on adverse media. But today’s risk landscape demands visibility across multiple categories, including sanctions, PEPs, and regulatory updates. That’s why we added the Owlin OmniSignal functionality.

What’s new?

You can now monitor all critical risk sources at once, including:

  • Adverse Media
  • Sanctions
  • Watchlists
  • PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons)
  • SOEs (State-Owned Enterprises)

All surfaced through the same event-driven, prioritized view.

How will you benefit?

  • An accurate unified view of what’s relevant in your risk landscape
  • No more switching tools or missing signals
  • Stronger compliance coverage and fewer blind spots

Terminology

Owlin Risk Scores help you quickly assess the severity of an issue *(High, Moderate, or Low).

Events are incidents or developments that could affect a company’s risk level.

Use-case-centric framework adjusts automatically depending on whether you’re screening a company once or monitoring it continuously.

The Owlin Risk Taxonomy organizes all types of risks into clear categories, so you can easily find and track what matters most.

Sub-lenses are detailed categories within each main risk type, letting you drill down into specific risks that matter most to you.”

Consumer Review Categorization is a framework we use to analyze and classify customer reviews to identify potential risks early, like service issues or complaints.

Sentiment shifts are changes in how people feel or talk about a company, product, or service.

Black-box solutions are solutions that do not clearly show how an insight or score is generated.
