Role description

As Owlin’s UI/UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing and improving our digital experiences, ensuring that our platform is visually compelling, easy to use, and valuable to our customers. This position involves working closely with product managers, engineers, and end users to translate complex data into intuitive designs that enhance usability and engagement. The ideal candidate has strong design skills, a passion for user research, and experience working in fast-paced startup environments.

Key Responsibilities

Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs to effectively communicate design ideas.
Design and improve user interfaces for Owlin’s platform, ensuring an intuitive and engaging user experience.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and data-driven analysis to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
Collaborate closely with product managers and developers to ensure seamless implementation of design solutions.
Define and maintain a consistent design system and UI components for scalable and cohesive visual experiences.
Stay up to date with the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and best practices to continually enhance our design approach.
Translate complex data into visually appealing and understandable dashboards and interfaces.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs to effectively communicate design ideas.

Requirements

Approximately 5 years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably within a startup or fast-growing company.
A strong portfolio showcasing experience in web application design, data visualization, and user research.
Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools.
Experience with designing for complex, data-heavy applications.
Understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end development (a plus, but not required).
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Must have a valid work permit to work in the Netherlands.
Availability for 4 to 5 days per week.

Preferred Skills

Experience in SaaS platforms or fintech-related industries.
Knowledge of design systems and component libraries.
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for inclusive design.
Background in data visualization or designing analytics dashboards.
